"Accursed fool!" Narzen hisses. Vezellek, will you stand guard for the prisoner and the cargo, he continues, switching back to sign language. The rest of you, follow me or wait here, as you prefer. I will go and see if we can get him back alive without risking ourselves. And if not, I am starting to think that would be all the better.

Narzen sets a bolt on his crossbow and starts looking for a clear view of what is happening.

Dx'au'vrinn's attack utterly surprises the ghostlike being who jerks back only a little. The scout, being pretty near, lashes out with his two blades, but only one "strikes" the undead and draws a fine line accross the being's smoky body. She howls with pain and anger and cries something which sounds like a name ...

Within the shadows of the ruined tower, the silent and dark figure turns its head and fixes the drow in his gaze. "Time to die, drow!" can be heard, spoken by a hoarse voice.

Zhadristan nods to Narzen. I assume you expected as much.
He brings up his hand crossbow and starts to hurry to Dx'zau'vrinn, but then he stops in the middle of the motion.

On a second thought, I am curious to see if he stands any chance at all.

The drow lowers his crossbow and observes the next moments of the fight, especially interested in the actions of the cloaked figure.

"Time to die indeed!" "THAT at least seems to be something that your good at!" Dx'zau'vrinn says in the midst of hysterical laughter.
"This time when you die though, stay dead. It's just really such a bother to have to kill something more than once."

He then begins to pump his arms furiously, slashing and stabbing at every possible angle, every conceivable opening. Knowing quite well that he may be fighting for his very right to breath.

S'zor, though ever loyal to his master, doesn't enter the fray. The supernatural presence of the undead being simply overwhelms the canine's sense bravado.

The battle on the island begins in earnest with Nata'al's arrow, which puts a smoky whole into the undead lady who howls in anger. Immediately afterwards, Dx'au'vrinn lets his blades begin to dance and while his dagger draws another slash across the incorporal body, the attempted stab with the sword goes astray and the drow even loses his grip to the weapon. Three greenish balls of magic stream over the water now and hitting the undead lady unerringly, leaving a smile on Zai'Dizzen's dark face. The ghostish lady starts to leak some of her unnatural essence, but is far from done. She lashes out with one of her arms and her cold touch almost robs Dx'qu'vrinn's breath*. The shadowy figure starts to walk over to the scene of the fight, hoisting a wicked looking halberd. This creature does also shine in some ghostly hue, but seems more corporal than its mistress. It will reach the scene of the fight next round.

"Dammit..." Dx'zau'vrinn gasps as the feels his very life energy drain away.

He quickly hops back feet and expendes the maximum amount of charges from his ring of the ram, using the forced shaped animal to head butt the apparition.

"I like this!", Zhadristan exclaims at Dx'zau'vrinn's actions.

He charges full speed towards the water, determined to miss no more of the fight.

Narzen rushes after Zhadristan, trying to grab him by the shoulder. "If you fight, fight at a distance! I will not drag two corpses out of there, and I will not risk that thing coming after the rest of us when we are scattered like this."

Zhadristan grits his teeth and yanks away. He spins around and glares at Narzen. intending to smack the drow.
At least until he grasps the seriousness and wisdom in his words. Zhadristan turns back, giving only the slightest nod. He moves on, looking for a reasonable position to use his crossbow.

Another three magical orbs speed towards the being in front of the scout, punching wholes into her body.  Dx'zau'vrinn's ring emits a bull-head like blast of force which tears into the ghost-like lady, virtually blowing her apart. Soon after, a bolt hisses over the water and firmly plants itself into the second enemy on the island, making him pause only an instant. Then he moves forward to Dx'au'vrinn and cleaves viciously at the drow, opening a nasty gash (27 HP). While Zhadristan and Narzen are engaged in a short debate, not immediately noticing the demise of the ghost-like lady, Nata'al lets fly another arrow which also sinks itself into the chest of the undead ...

Vezellek keeps a close eye on the elf-fiend, who watches the fight with no apparent interest.

Dx'zau'vrinn grits his teeth from the sudden shock of pain he feels when the undead thing claws into him.

He then quickly turns his attention upon that thing and releases another maximum blast of force from his ring at the thing and bolts forty feet away intending to fight a ranged battle with the thing.

Narzen turns his attention back to the fight, and a look of surprise shows on his face.

"It appears some deity still smiles upon him," he mutters and lets loose a crossbow bolt at the remaining undead.

Zhadristan fires a bolt at the halberd bearer and further approaches the creature in a circle, thus avoiding Narzen's line of fire.

The undead guardian moves towards Dx'au'vrinn but is met by the force from the drow's ring, which stops him in his tracks. Almost simultaneously, Narzen's bolt finds its way past the creature's armor and sinks itself into undead flesh. Nata'al was put off by the sudden stop and her arrow whistles past the guardian, shattering on the tower's wall an instant later. In quick succession, Sheiriya's and Zhadristan's bolts also meet undead flesh, leaving the guardian looking like a porcupine. Finally, three emerald balls of magic streak over the water, unerringly punching wholes into the being ... which topples over and lies still.

Zhadristan turns his back on Dx'zau'vrinn and heads towards Narzen. While walking he calmly secures the hand crossbow on his belt. Excellent! he thinks and his face reflects his joy.
A most entertaining approach to.. garnering information. he signals so Dx'zau'vrinn can see. Without looking back he keeps walking, thus not knowing whether Dx'zau'vrinn saw his message or not.
As he walks, images of Dx'zau'vrinn blasting his back with his ring cross his mind and Zhadristan's muscles tense at the thought.
