The sound of the draught becomes lauder the nearer you get to the shaft. Tavia pauses at the exit, scanning the surroundings once more, looks back at you for half a moment before starting to ascend the stairs.
The whole, utterly dark dungeon looks like an inverted tower, stairs and ramps crawling up and down a central shaft that is at least 400 feet high, as you can see neither top nor bottom. Large alcove-like openings can be seen, as well as entries to tunnels and chambers at the various levels. The shaft is at least 100 feet wide and you can barely see the opposite wall. A number of small stone bridges and metal beams cross the open space, some of which have long chains dangling from it, clinking in the wind. A number of cages hang there as well, the remains of some ill-fated creatures lying at their bottom.
The scouts moves upwards at a brisk pace, yet not leaving any sort of track in the dust. She scans the surrounding area constantly without slowing the pace. After you have climb three levels, she suddenly stops and points downwards. Two levels below, from an entry that you have past only moments before, a procession of dwarf-like creatures appears. Lead by a heavily cloaked character, about 15 creatures - all of which skeletized to the bones - begin a slow and steady descent downwards. Half of them carry poles to which some sort of darkfire lanterns are attached, shedding a gruesome light on the scene. The air transports some chant-like noise up to your ears.
