Farviaan's sword hacks away at the skeleton, who suffers another blow and almost collapses. Stepping back to the wall, it sends three magic missiles into the gith, one penetrates the latter's resistance (3 HP). This enables the priestess another swing at the back of the creature, but her maces only smashes the left bony arm to pieces without stopping the spellcasting. Angry, Kylara swings the weapon again and this time pulverizes the skeleton's skull, which immediately crumbles on the spot. Xyranma wriggles past the fighters and enters the room (4) on the platform, which has been blasted by Khala's cold magic. One human male lies in the corner, frozen to death. Two more humans, all striped down to underwear huddle in the eastern corner, the female badly hit by the frost spell too. All humans are bound, but not gagged. On the southern edge of the room, a table can be seen upon which a number of items, possibly the possession of the humans, are piled up. There is a short tunnel to a room on the western side (5), the door of which stands ajar and no-one is in there. This is apparently some living or sleeping quarter of the pillar's master. A few stairs lead west- and downwards to a small room which contains the living quarters of the derro and some stored goods. The red-robed lady cannot be seen ... and Tavia steps up the ramp and signals that she has not seen the female either. Behind her, Zhadristan and Sheiriya appear.
On the ground (below 3), Szrodrin hacks away at the glued skeleton with precise strikes. It tries to cast a spell at him, only to pay with more bony fragments.
At the southern edge of the bridge, Gaess finally decides that staying on with the necromancer is not going to give her any fun, so she jumps up to the dais and makes her way down the corridor. On the bridge, the darkness fades and reveals the two dead derro.
