Just as a notice, have a new job.

I will post as I can, however my job is on call 24/7 as a driver for railroad crews, which can have me away for as long or longer than 10 hours at a time. I will always be on call, unless I am having down time.

As I just told Zanan, a real life situation has ... well ... exploded.  As a result, I am now spending most of my time dealing with that situation.  Hopefully the crisis will pass in the next couple weeks.

Good ... we'll do a semi-shift in leadership, handing the chairlady's role to the next priestess in line, i.e. Xune. That is OOC only though. De jure and de facto, Mikayla's lass will be the commander in chief. Any objections to that?

To shorten the battle tactics:
Suggested formation ...

- Xune, Szordin & Tavia go straight to the derro whith those who like to accompany them, either by foot or with missile

- Kylara'anon and Khalas jump to the platform (or nearby)  with someone/-two accompanying them to.

Just let us get over this tactics babble and wet our fingers in blood for the glory of the Dark Mother et al  8)

OK, I am having a very hard time keeping track of who is who and can do what, and with people speaking in character, I am not really able to discern what the hells their preference is..

So:

Group 1 (sneaking):  Kylara, Khalas and ?

Group 2 (approaching openly): Xune, Szordin and Tavia and ?

Group 1 will move out first and get in position.  Once in position, Group 2 will move across the bridge as if to cross peacefully.  Once within striking distance, Group 2 will launch an initial barrage of spells, bolts and arrows.  When the enemy moves to respond, Group 1 will drop from above/climb up from below and take them.  Group 2 will then move towards Group 1, killing those enemy inbetween.

My character (Gaess) can and will sneak up on the enemy, so she's in group 1.

Just to elaborate. Farviaan wants to go openly with Xune and then use his Dimension Door ability just after the blasters blasted the platform. I don't know if this is possible in the same round, but I would appreciate it, so that he doesn't loose a round by just standing there being a target.

Just to get this correctly done ...

One group will teleport (however done) accross the bridge near to the platform on the pillar and magic-strike on those on top of it. Afterwards, a bit of melee will clear things up.

The second group, i.e. Xune's, will target the three derro on the bridge. Now, I doubt that either Szordrin nor Tavia will actually move accross the bridge in full few, and I doubt that this was Xune's plan either. To my understanding, it was more like sneaking up as close as you get to the derro and send them into the next world before they can raise any alarm. I doubt anyone will come striding casually over the bridge, aye?

Give me a short confirmation on that, Xune groupies that is. And give range attackers, give me a target please. We have one robed figure (main aim of Szordrin) and two onlooking chaps with crossbows.

Lest i forget, the crossbows aren't undead, right? So Zhadristan might shoot a bolt at one of them.

Hmm ... that's why drow males should leave the thinking process to the priestesses  .

Well, perhaps Xune wants to approach like a common drow merchant with a few folk as bodyguards et al? It's just that I know what the exact tactics will be, of course.

Crossbows are quite dead, their wielders are normal derro though.  :tooth:

Rightio ... I'll set the first round rolling by tomorrow (Saturday) noon GT (German Time). As I see it, those going with Kylara will went to the platform, while half of the rest will approach the derro on the bridge normally and in full view, while at least Tavia and Szordrin sneak up to the threesome and play the bloody game.

If someone wants to add some tactics, precise or more general, please let me know by then. You see, we have to have a "cut" somewhere, or else the fight will take ages.

While we are at it, people who know in advance that they cannot be around that often - temporarily or not - shoudl send me a short notification on how the character will behave / fight / whatever, so I a) know what's up and b ) can take the chara on without waiting for replies.

Rightio, that was round I, done in different style than before. That is, I rolled all the  d20s at the Gate and did the rest as "homework".

The scene after Round I

Kylara, Khalas, the chain, and Farviaan are just below the platform's upper level, who has just been cold ball'ed by the wizard. It is hard to discern what has happened up there from hereabouts though. (you stand inbetween No. 7 and No. 8 on the map, Khalas levitating a few feet above ground)

On the bridge (around about the No. 10 on the map), of the group, Tarinyon has been hit and poisoned, the rest of the group is fine. Of the derro, the crossbow wielders (Mr. Pick and Mr. Sword, out of simplicity) still carry these weapons, but are about to drop them. Mr. Pick looks in better shape, having been hit only by Zhadristan's bolt. Mr. Sword looks far worse, blood covers his body, but you guess he can take at least as much wounds as he has received so far.
The Savant looks doomed though. Not only has he lost his orientation somewhat (Stunned), but also lies prone and in his blood. Of the latter, you see a lot.

For the sake of speed, I assumed some folk's actions. That is Tarinyon cast a magic missile, while Sheiriya sent a bolt away. I left Xune as a bystander for the time being ... you see, there are so many males and footies around to dirt their hands ...
