Appearance:
Spoiler (Anzeigen)Shiroko is a slender young lady, standing 5 feet 6 inches high and weighting about 100 pounds. Her straight, free falling black hair, that covers her back above the shoulderblades, as well as her dark, gracefully shaped eyes and rather light skin reveal obviously her oriental origin. She wears an exotic kind of armour that appears to be made of hardened foliage and consists of a vest, sparing neck, shoulders and waist for the sake of higher mobility, and knee-long leggings provided with stripes of almost the same lenght, which form a kind of skirt. A pair of dark green, elegant boots, tight fingerless gloves, partly covering a pair of leather bracers and a black cloak belong to Shiroko's further visible equipment, as well as a longbow and a belt holding some bags and purses, a swordsheath containg a shortsword and an arrow-filled quiver.
A well-fed but suspiciously looking wolf always accompanies the young huntress.
Background:
Spoiler (Anzeigen)Shiroko has always been a black sheep in the herd. Born and raised in a small and nature-close community in the far east of the Faerûnian continent, the girl, who seemed to be misunderstood and disliked by other children, spent lots of time striding alone through the wide forests near the village. Since her father was a hunter, she let him teach her to make use of a bow and to read animals’ tracks. This knowledge served her well in her farther wanderings the fate had led her on.
At the young age of seventeen, as she was sneaking through the woods once again, trying to escape from the hoplessly boring life in the thorp, Shiroko spotted a group of robe-wearing figures who wre obviously trying to pass by unnoticed. Curious about those strange individuals, she followed them but was detected as she got too close. Trapped by a spell one of the robe-wearers had cast on her, the young lady faced her seemingly inavoidable death without fear - a circumstance which impressed the travelling magicians a lot. Serella, one of the mages, had offered Shiroko apprenticeship, that she accepted willingly.
However, arcane secrets the wandering wizards were studying and seeking for, were rather obscure, better to say mostly refered to necromantic magic. Anyways, Shiroko hadn’t any worries about it, as she started to figure out a purpose for her existance. A gifted and grateful student, the young huntress mastered the basics of (obscure) arcane spellcasting with ease and soon became a great help for her masters on their dangerous expeditions.
Five years later, the merciless fate took Shiroko this new life she had got used to and found a kind of pleasure in. The wandering wizard league got extinguished by a complicated magical trap hidden so well that even the wisest of the magicians, Torus, had detected the letal arcane device too late. By the fortune’s will, only the elder ones were affected by the powerful magic, since their apprentice had happened to stand some inches out of range. Left alone among tangle-covered ancient ruins, the shaken young lady hurried to escape. She had spent a nightmare-haunted night in a small forest cave, just to be woken up by subtle but well hearable gnaring - of a wolf. Luckily for both Shiroko and the wolf, the alarmed huntress realized quickly there was only one beast in the cave, and it seemed to be rather scared than agressive. Treating the lone predator - who happened to be a young female - kindly, the infortunate apprentice gained a new friend, as she spent several months living in the woods around the cave. For long time, Shiroko felt no need for human society, just satisfied with studying death magic further on her own and hunting together with Ookami, as she had called her wolf friend.
Since their prey weren’t only animals, but also uncautios travellers using certain forest paths Shiroko knew of, it was unavoidable for her to get curious about the people living in the landscape she haunted. They appeared very different from those the huntermage had grown up with, not only regarding how they looked like, but also in their attitudes and manners.
Inspired by sudden longing for contact with speech-gifted beings and dreams of a better life, she finally dared to leave the grove, still accompanied by Ookami. Travelling westwards, led by enticing rumors and gossips, Shiroko faced much more misunderstanding and prejudices than in her homelands, often being only accepted by nature-devotees like druids or hunters like her, who rarely happened to learn about her spellcasting abilities. Still, she understood the value of gold for manipulating others or being able to form a better life soon.
Seeking for an alternative to simple robbery, Shiroko became some kind of adventurer, looking for opportunities to earn gold, but also to find more open-hearted people, or at least to prove herself there weren’t any at all.
