Call of the Banshee Queen
« Antwort #555 am: 25.06.2010, 10:45:39 »
Korach thunders "silently" into the room and aims at the necromancer lord. While the three figures about him spot the onrushing minotaur, the necromancer only turns at the last moment and watches Korach's axe descent. It sinks deeply into the necromancer's chest, nearly cutting the man in half. A gush of blood spray those to the left of him. One, a female cries out in surprise, than anguish, as Tathlyn arrow sinks into her side. She staggers a couple of feet away, then focusses on the attackers. The undead circles around the now-dead necromancer, ready to strike at Korach, while the second robed figure, also steps back from the blooded axe.

Korach roars in satisfaction but of course it is not heard within the magical silence. Then he faces the undead and attacks it with all the strength he has.

Jhaelvirr stays true to his sword and hides in the shadows. After the minotaur charges in the room, he sneaks after him, all the while readying himself to react to any magic cast by a foe.

The undead whirls about, lashes at Korach but its aim is too short and it misses the hulking figure*. The creature on the ledge already turned when it heard the necromancer final scream, scanned the hall in a split second and sends two arrows hurtling at Paval, the only drow he sees that is not moving about. His aim is dead right, as he plants an arrow close to Paval's heart (30 hp), while his second shot sinks into the drows thigh (6 hp). Korach whirls his bloodied axe about and sends it through the semi-solid undead mass in front of him, meeting some resistance. His second swing disperses the flying cloud which formerly was a wraith.** A triplet of arrows race accross the room, two of which hitting the male that stood to the left of the necromancer. Something on those missiles make the chap grow pale, but he retains its balance for the time being.

When the incorporeal body of the wraith dissipates, Korach looks for the next target. In silence he charges the next opponent who looks like casting a spell. Again he attacks with all his strength.

The cloaked male takes his time casting a spell that places a darkish aura around his hand. He quickly moves up to the hulking Korach and tries to touch him, though as the spells takes hold,  the results are not as significant as he might have hoped (8 HP). His face produces a silent snarl. The female retreats a little before casting a spell on herself, while Jhaevirr sneaks through the shadows and will reach the chap on the ledge soon, since this is the only one who does not have him in his sights. Zhadristan moves up to the female and tries to stab her. She whirls about and her robes caughts the drow's sabre and removes it from his grasp.

(Edited for the touch did actually hit. Mrs. E's spell worked, as she managed her Will save (rolled independently.) Edit 2: Zhadristan included)

Tathlyn unleashes another triplet of arrows this time against the man on the ledge, one hits but does not take the chap down. Korach looks down at the sorcerer in front of him and gets his axe in motion again. His first chop severs the right arm and cuts deep into the lower body of that poor soul, sending him into the next world ... while screeming silently. (waiting for Zhad's action)

He attempts to grab the female caster, who tries to distract him with her mace. The drow grabs her shield arm and closes in, but she wrestles it free again, staring daggers at her opponent. Her hand starts to glow and she attempts to touch Zhadristan with it, but the nimble drow moves aside.

Up at the ledge, Jhaevirr sneaks behind the archer and tries his best to pierce his spine, but his opponents shifts at the vital moment and the attack misses. The chap whirls about, throws his bow to the ground and draws a rapier, ready to face Jhaevirr in close combat. From his looks and build, the drow can determine that his opponent is a halfling.

The damage is minimal though, but draws her attention to him. Tathlyn rushes into the room to, scanning the place for any hidden dangers ere sending an arrow into the back of Jhaelvirr's little opponent. Zhadristan's opponent casts another spell, wary for any attacks and lashes out at the drow, but once more his agility saves his skin. The female snarls a curse in some unknown tongue.
Jhaelvirr growls and draws a step back. Then it becomes suddenly very dark on the ledge, apart from the little drow-hater, who (at least to Jhaelvirr) is shrouded in magical flames. Only the drow sees the his opponent moving away from him, drawing a potion and gulping the very same, waving his weapon in front of him all the while.  Korach rushes up to the female and lashes at her with his axe. He draws a bloody line on her chainmail, which splits apart and is ruined. She flies back a few steps, crushes to the floor and stays down, a steady stream of blood pouring from her not-yet-dead body.

Korach gets rid of the silenced stone and gives the female a boot to check if she really is unconscious. If she is not Korach will help her to the afterlife.
