Hearing that the beast has left the darkness, Iira reaches around into his pack for something. From within the pack he produces a rope with attached grappling hook. With his other hand he loosely coils up his spiked chain. (Not like he is seen cause of the darkness.)

Sheiriya puts her special ring on a finger and looks at the scene from above through magical means for orientation.

Zhadristan continues to move back and casts a spell on the way.

Lots of movement goes on, as you move towards the edge of the darkness. Occasionally, a cone of visibility pierces the shadows, as the beholder scans for your positions. It slowly moves towards the path as well.

Keth appear on the edge of the darkness, completing her casting. Near her a cavvekan materializes out of thin air. Shadows leak out of it and you can actually see through it. Instantly, the beast charges the beholder, apparently well able to see through the darkness. One by one the drow appear near the edge of the darkness spell, though Zouhlnor, Iira and Zhadristan are still well covered. The skeleton warrior seems to wait till it can spot the beholder, drawing a wicked looking dagger.
Nata'al's fingers start to work a few signs: "All move to the tunnel" (points towards it) "I will cover most of the area in darkness too, so get your mark right!"

Hearing the talking from beyond the darkness globe and not wanting to get blasted Iira heads towards his left. As he moves he puts his chain back on it's holder at his side.

Sheiriya makes her way out of the darkness, too, reloading her crossbow with one of her magical bolts this time.
She wants to leave the darkness at a place where she will not face the beholder directly.

Keth will move towards the tunnel dropping an area of darkness to help cover the withdrawal.

While all this happens, Talice suddenly calls out from somewhere to the east of the forest "Ware! The other warrior has ..." she stops in mid-sentence. "Move to the left, don't try anything silly or I blast you out you boots!" She calls out to someone, before adding: "We've got company Keth! Claiming to be an ally!"

Zhadristan comes out of the darkness, moving towards the southern tunnels. He levels his hand at the beholder and unleashes a beam of force that hits the beast, staggering it for half a moment. Jhalashar follows the male, turning and firing an arrow at the beholder that misses all but the wall behind it. Sheiriya, looking for cover at every step, loosens a bolt from her crossbow while making for the tunnel as well. The missile hits an already wounded eyestalk and forcing an angry hiss from your opponent. The monsters levels its eyes at various targets, four at the fast approaching shadow creature. A beam touches the skeleton, to no effect though. Three differently colored beams pierce the cavvekan, again, to no visible effect. With a growl, the beholder gets hold of a stalagtite and sends it crushing through the shadowy form. The drow dog does not even blink. Jhalashar feels the presence of the beholders mind upon him, yet, his long lost elven heritage prevents him from succumbing from that enchantment. Sheiriya too has a strange sensation in her mind as the beholder tries to stop her in her tracks with a spell. Her racial heritage prevents the spell from taking a hold though. Finally, an eyesatlk is turned towards Zhadristan, but the soothing voice of the beholder pearls off the protection the drow had cast a few moments ago without taking effect. Geirildin bolts out of the darkness, leveling an arrow at the beholder before following the others. The wall suffers another hit. The cavvekan reaches the beholder and bites heartily into the creature's flesh, or so it appears. The beholder visibly shivers. A dagger thrown by the skeleton clanks against the wall as well, which might become annoyed by the attention it got so far. Nata'al leaves the darkness too, noting the passing form of the second female warrior, as the drow makes her way to the southern tunnels too, a hand-crossbow in hand and apparently following Talice's orders. The latter is nowhere to be seen. Nata'al turns and places a darkness spell on top of one of the fungi, thus covering the better part of the way to the south in darkness and obstructing any view the beholder might have in this direction. Then she bolts after the drow female. When Keth leaves the darkness, she notices that her summoned magical weapon is nowhere to be seen.

Sheiriya is on her way to the rest of the group, too. She tries not to get into the antimagic ray of the beholder.

It is hard for you to determine what goes on in the darkness, but all reach the passage to the next cavern without being attacked. For the moment, the beholder does not pursue you. Both Geirildin and Nata'al level their bows at the female in your midst, while Jhalashar keeps a close eye on the fungi forest and the magical darkness.

The drow female keeps her own handcrossbow leveled at Nata'al, but holds up her other hand palm out in a gesture of calm.  "Vendui lueth bela'dos."  Hello and thank you.  "I am Malifice.  Who might you be?"

Nata'al ignores the crossbow and replies - to the others of the group rather than Malifice: "T'seems she's nae longer charmed, if she ever was." Turning her eyes on the newcomer: "Vendui Malifice! It is not my privilege to answer yer questions."
