DM's note: House rule ... if an attacker has more than one attack and roles a natural 1 with his first hit, he has to check whether he loses his weapon (roll 1d20 and get anything better than 1, 2, or 3 on that roll or lose the weapon). In any case, if his roll was a 1, he loses any subsequent attacks with this weapon for the round. If he fights with two weapons, he cn attack with the other hand normally.
