And if you could have seen her there,
boys, if you had just been there,
the swan was in her movement
and the morning in her smile.
The song goes on as you near the entrance to a larger and well lit room. Just as Kylara is about to enter it, something dark steps straight out of the wall and into the priestess' path. Strikingly similar to a drow female, the shadowy creature can be looked through, yet its eyes glow in a dark reddish colour. Kylara stops and takes the apparation in, much like the creature does with her. A rasping female voice can be heard by those near the priestess: "Welcome sister. We have been waiting for you!"
The shadow nods its transparent head and vanishes into the wall again.
All the roses in the garden,
they bow and ask her pardon,
for not one can match the beauty
of the queen of all Suzail.
The Dalharil steps into the room which features about a dozen exits, a domed ceiling reaching up to some 70 feet, and half a score of drow females. In what looks like a summoning circle on the smooth and rune-covered floor, a tall human female stands inspecting the magical bindings while presenting her tune to the audience - one lean drow sitting cross-legged just outside the runes.
On the evening that I mention,
I passed with light intention,
through a part of this fair country
known for beauty and for style ...
The female stops and looks in your direction, as do most of the drow bar the cross-legged one. "Ah," the human says, "and here was me thinking that they would not make it. Silly me!" She sends a smile towards the cross-legged drow.
One of the drow, looking like the exact duplicate of the one who gave Kylara her orders back in Sschindylryn, stands up from reading a scroll and approaches the newcomers, closely followed by a tall female in adamantine armor ... and the eyes of the rest of the drow bar the human's audience.
"It took you some time to get here, Sister Kylara. I hope you did not suffer any grievances along the way?" She looks upon the priestess' comrades. "My sister told me of the exotic look-about of your group, but it seems all suit their purpose. Anyway, let me explain your task in a more private fashion, shall we not." She gives a few signs to her bodyguard and the latter waves her hand to show all but Kylara a place to rest. The Dalharil leads the priestess off to the side and settles down outside of listening distance to the other. The bodyguard keeps a close eye on all who are not drow and all males amongst the drow.
Xune and Tavia settle next to each other, eyeing up the human female and whispering a few lines to themselves. The singer turns her head to the cross-legged drow and starts singing again ...
So my friends I need must leave you,
my intention's not to grieve you,
nor indeed would I deceive you,
but I'll see you in a while.
The human is a tall specimen by all accounts, surely making the 6 feet mark. Her long blond hair flies freely around her bare shoulders, a few braids hardly keeping it in check. She's got a well muscled frame and her movements show that she also has a fair amount of agility. Her legs as well as her upper body is covered by what looks like some dark emerald snake-hide clothing, clinging as close to her as a second skin would. A pair of gloves and bracers cover her lower arms, a heavy platinum chain and something that looks like a torque her otherwise bare neck. An assortment of small belts mark out her well-formed hips, while other equipment like bags, bow, a quiver, food, and ropes lie at her feet. No other weaponry or armor can be spotted.
