Jhaelvirr grins and walks over to the little creature while drawing a knife. He kneels and says: "Nowhere to run to now, eh? Let's see what you're made of, then." Then he starts cutting.

After a while, Paval draws out a small stone which sheds magical silence, drowning out most of the screams. Only the space where Jhaelvirr enjoys his new plaything remains in full sound.

Jhaelvirr doesn't need long. Leaving the remains of the halfling lying on the ground, he rises and comments with disgust: "There's not even a good eating in that one."

The rest passes by without any interference and as soon as anyone is ready, Tathlyn leads you out into the grand hall again. Nothing has changed since you left the place and as the scout makes his way to the exit, Paval orders his undead minion to stay here and wait for their return. He does add a few specifics about whom to attack ere joining up with the group again.
The exit leads off into a tunnel that looks like some sort of ceremonial hallway, with over-sized dwarven statues lining the walls. You do feel the power of magic lingering on some of the statues and Paval, after doing a closer inspection, tells you to leave them alone. The dwarves apparently wove some protective magic into this place and there is no need to awaken that.
After a while the hallway splits up and since you have got a map right now, Tathlyn leads you close to the area marked white. As you draw nearer, you feel a slight draft of air towards this place. After a walk  past derelict mining equipment, you end up on a wide ledge filled with more equipment and heaps of rubble. Beyond it, a vast cavern expands into the darkness, making it clear why there is this white area on the map. There is a slight wail of air to be heard, though you cannot put any direction on its origination.

"I guess we have to get down there somehow?" Korach asks Tahtly "Or will we try the ledge?" he does not care to lower his voice as walking around in his full plate is already loud enough to draw attentionto him.

"We'll try the ledge up to the cliff, I would assume that the stout ones used some sort of bridges, natural or magical to cross this space, maybe there are some pillars or stalagmites we can use." The scout says. "We should be vary of flying predators and the like. They can hide everywhere here and I do assume there's a reason why this area is not mapped."
Paval looks for some piece of debris, grabs a stone and says: "I could put a spell on this one to silence our sounds. But we would not be able to hear any approaching dangers either."

After the last rest period, Jhaelvirr lost all his ancient tattoos and piercings. Now, he looks quite normal except his facial features stretch taut over his skull and his presence gives you an uneasy feeling. Also, his skin seems a bit grayer than normal. He is unusually silent, not even muttering to himself, but regards his surroundings with a hungry gaze.
As you near the ledge, he walks forward and peers downward into the abyss.

The floor beyond the cliff is some 50 feet away, littered with debris and stalagmites reaching up to 30 feet into the 'sky'. Nothing moves down there.

Paval intones a short prayer and cask said spell on the stone. All sound about him dies an instant later. He hands the stone to Korach, while Zhadristan looks on and Tathlyn joins Jhaelvirr at the cliff.

Korach takes the stone and puts is into a small bag which he could just rip off if needed. Then he grips his axe and and gives a short sign (no drow sign language) that he is ready.

There are a number of bridges - some artificial, some natural - reaching out to some nearby stalagmites and into the darkness beyond. Tathlyn points to one massive-looking bridge on your right, who seems to make good headway into the area you want to explore. It is lined with ancient columns holding lanterns in stony grasps.

Nothing but the clinking noise of Korach's armor can be heard, the silence hangs heavy over the whole place. Tathlyn signals to all who see him that the group should be wary of flying predators. After having armed himself with a long silken rope, to which a weight is attached, he stops every now and then and throws it ahead, checking whether the bridge is real.

You make your way over the bridge, through a tunnelled stalagmite and over another bridge. The stonework is clearly dwarven, but some features have been altered over the cause of time. If you look back, the ledge has already vanished into the darkness.
About a mile onwards, still walking over old dwarven bridges and ledges around large pillars, you begin to walk upon bones and skulls of mainly humanoid creatures. All of them seem to be long dead.

"Sorry," Korach says but you can be sure he is not meaning it, "I didn't want to frighten you."
