Nathanael leaves the blithering Pillar of Skulls behind and again sets foot onto the blood-slick rocks.
The first landmark of the description given by the gnome can be seen from afar: The sinister River of Blood clearly stands out against the barren landscape and if the gnomish skull was to be trusted, crossing the river would be the first step in finding the portal.
Shortly thereafter the Wizard finds himself again pit against the gory flow, his previous cast spell of flight long faded. As he looks around for a more shallow part of the riverbed, after a while Nathanael finds a place where the blood runs only waist-high. Unfortunatley the river is also where broad at this point, easily measuring 200 yards across.
