Paval casts 'Augury" hoping the result will guide the party to the right location.

Eventually you reach something like a crossroad. Two tunnels arch slowly upwards, while another simply departs into the darkness to your left. Tathlyn signals that it is more likely to find burial grounds down here rather than closer to the surface, hence he would choose this direction. The mining as well as working equipment you have found so far looks like that being used for precious metals and gems, rather than simpler ores. After a while, you clearly leave the working areas behind and enter what could well have been a ceremonial hallway, lined by statues and reliefs. All is dust covered, some of the statues have toppled but in general, the area looks rather unmolested by any scavengers. In the distance, yo do hear some muffled sounds, the clang of steel against steel ...

Jhaelvirr for once keeps his mouth shut and slinks into the shadows, with a fierce grin on his painted face.

You move along a corridor again lined by alcoves featuring dwarven statues. Almost all of them seem to be intact. Ahead, you see some light, most likely created by magic. The clang of steel and some deep growls are much closer now. The left wall remains statue-line, the right one though dissappears and makes way for some kind of ballustrade. looking over or through it, you see a large, dimly-lit room with long lines of alcoves, sarcophagi and dais with stacks of bones. This is clearly a dwarven burial ground. On the far side, you spot some movement, but it cannot be discerned from hereabouts.

Zhadristan draws his weapon as well, and tries to remain unseen until the situation is clearer.

A couple of opportunities are open to you. Either you follow the corridor, which turns to the right a bit further down the way, then apparently down towards the floor of the hall. Or you take up a position here and fight from higher grounds. If you want to fight.

Down there, the fight rages on. You spot a large figure heading towards you, being followed by two skeleton-things. The big one easily jumps over a sarcaophagus, then turns and lashes out with a massive warhammer, smashing on of the skeleton's into a spary of bones. The other though lashes out with some sort of rapier and pierces the big ones thigh. From the growls and the horns on its head, you determine that the big one has to be a minotaur or the like. He looks far more "civil" than your average labyrinth rabble-defender.

Paval orders the dretch to take a position in front of him. Paval then calls on Kiaransalee to give him the power to control or rebuke the undead.

The dretch obeys its temporary master, while the latter asks his dark queen for assistance. These vaults seem to reduce her influence (or something along those lines), as Paval cannot establish a good enough hold on the undead's mind (who clearly is active). It stops its pursue of the hulking figure and scans the room for this mental intrusion.

Tathlyn slinks into the shadows and follows the corridor to get nearer to the field of battle.

The skeleton seems not to notice the source and strodes towards the wounded bulky chap in front of it. The latter hefts its massive warhammer and awaits the undead.

With a deep growl, the hulking figure jumps at the skeleton and smashes its warhammer down the bone warriors left side,  armor and bones fly away, but still the undead jabs twice at its attacker (5 HP). A couple of arrows whizz past the two fighters, hammering into something stony at the far side of the hall.

Paval casts Stone Shape on a nearby stalagmite, shaping it to make it look like a heavily armed drow soldier.
